Tanya takes on Tennis

Well, my intention was not that it be this long between posts. Sorry for that.
I tried something new last night, a friend of mine invited me to play tennis with her and OMG, I was sore. We played for about an hour and that was enough for me. I really enjoyed it and am ready to buy some rackets and teach Nate. I think this could be a great way to get active and have fun at the same time. We are going to play three nights a week and tonight I am going to my first Weight Watchers meeting. Just to see what it is like and if I think it might be worth trying. A friend a work is doing it and I thought it might be neat to have the extra accountability. We will be measuring and weighing this weekend, so we will see what we find out. From here on out though, we will only weigh on Tuesday nights so that I can keep up with things from there. I will write again soon and let you know what is happening and what I find out about tonight.

Tanya's Work Out

1st, 2nd & 3rd position
Now I just have to do 2 next time :)
My goal will be to get to
25 of these each time
I'm not kidding, I really only did 1, that's kind of sad! :(

Nate's Work Out

Nate added his weight, he said he'll always be able to lift more than me!!! WHATEVER!!!

Dylan's Work Out

Our Home Gym

We set this up tonight, it was already down there but not very organized. We got rid of a bunch of "junk" from the basement that the city will pick up on Wednesday, that was a work out in and of itself. Then we played around on the equipment and tried some stuff. Nate and I had fun with the camera and thought you might enjoy seeing them.

Looking into it

After getting to work the other day, one of my co-workers (whose daughter I had in K4) was asking me how we were doing it. She said she went to Weight Watchers and loved the points system. You can eat whatever you want but everything has points. You just have to stay within your points for that day. My sister-in-law did this program too and was really sucessful at it.

I got online and it checked it out, its not real expensive. Nate suggested I go to the meetings and then come home and share with him. That way we both can benefit, BUT we only pay one fee each month (sorry ww). I hope that we can be faithful to it. We will start to check it out next week. I am going to talk to my co-worker a little more and find out when she goes, I would love to be at a meeting when there is someone else that I know. PLUS, I am pretty sure you get some kind of credit for bringing friends.

We'll see. My biggest struggle is at night when I start craving sweets. I don't even want to eat, but can't help the feelings. I try drinking water, but it just doesn't seem to go away. We are organizing the basement today, maybe from now on when I get the craving I will go workout for 10 minutes. Focus on something else. I know that the program offers desserts that are low in points, maybe we will get those for just those type of times.

I don't know, just keep praying. I am so tired and don't have that much energy that is VERY hard to keep going. I WANT TO, just need that extra kick in the but to do it.

I AM EXHAUSTED!!!!

Day one back at work and I am worn out!!! It wasn't really that hard, just a long day and training is more mental than physical. I did walk to work today, I started to walk home but Nate picked me up and we went for supper. We ate salads and SUGAR FREE pudding, that was pointless, it was not good at all. Taught me my lesson.
I finally took the car ride from work home and it is exactly one mile from my work to my driveway. So when I walk to and from it will be 2 miles per day. It's a little warm, so depending on what time I leave for work (the earlier the better), I might have to switch it up. I don't think anyone at work wants me coming in smelling and sweaty. Everyone was great at work, and the best thing so far is that I get the employee discount in the cafeteria. I got a great salad for lunch today and a water, $1.28. I could hardly believe it, that's cheaper than what the kids pay for lunch at school. It was just enough to, I was content but not stuffed. That will be one of my biggest lessons I learn during this whole experience, stop when I'm full. I think we grow up being told "finish that food" or "you're not getting up until your plate is cleaned", no wonder my kids are like they are, we spent the first part of their life telling them that. No one ever taught me portion control, start small. No one EVER told me to stop when I was full. You learn what you live!
Thats it for tonight, this weekend we are going to work hard on the basement and get some stuff cleaned out. I am calling the Easley pick up next week to come get some big trash and that will clear out some major space. That will be a work out in and of itself.
Till then...
